1. Update phone and apps regularly.
Most of us don't update or ignore Operating System updates and Apps update. That can open you up to a data breach. New virus and malware are developed daily which can easily bypass the security patch of your Android Phone if you don't update OS on a regular basis.
We get updates because the smartphone company knows that Hackers are also smart they find loops in the security and make a new virus which can breach that security.
So, the company give us Security Patch Update or OS update with some extra security from the previous one. By doing this Hackers old ways to hack do not work on the Updated one. Therefore we should update our OS and mobile Apps on a Regular Basis.
2. Avoid public Wi-Fi
We get much free public Wi-Fi in shopping centres, cafes, airports, or any other public venue. Here's the hacker can Hack your Android By MIM attack.
How to Stay Safe on Public Wi-Fi?
- Use a VPN.
- Use Antivirus.
- Never fill any type of card details or password.
- Don't Register Anywhere on Public Wi-Fi.
3. Download apps from trusted sources
The first tip to protect your Android is to download apps only from trusted sources such as the Google Play Store. Before Downloading you must check the Rating & Reviews of the app. Also, check the Permission it demands.
Many 3rd party websites provide you the same apk but there's a chance of vulnerability and malware.
I knew that many Paid Apps are freely available on 3rd Party Websites. But downloading them means giving access to the virus. May be these apps encoded with any hacking app and after installing the hacker get access to your smartphone.
Never download a mod/crack version. To get some extra features we download Mod/Crack Application. This is also not Safe for our Android. So Download apps from trusted sources only.
4. Ignore spam and phishing emails.
Nowadays we hear in news & on social media about leaking of data or other personal details. Hackers use this method to steal your email & passwords.
Hacker sends us an email so professionally that we got confused and trapped in their process. They send us mails from look-alike emails to make us think that this is from an official account.
There are many websites which look similar to the Official website. And when we fill our details then it goes directly to hacker's dashboard. So be aware of spam mails.
If someone is asking your confidential details online then do not trust anyone. And never fill those details.
5. Download an Antivirus app
If you are conscious about your security then your Android should have an Antivirus app. It will provide enhanced security to your smartphone.
Whenever you download apps, PDF's and other files then the antivirus will scan & read them. If the Antivirus found andy malware in your downloaded file then it will give you a warning before opening.
You can download Antivirus such as Avast & McAfee from Play Store. So don't forget to install an antivirus app.
6. Use two-factor authentication
Two-Factor authentication is a must to secure your data from hacking. Many apps like Facebook, Google, WhatsApp, Telegram and many other apps come with a feature of Two-Factor authentication.
If you didn't enabled Two-Factor Verification of your E-Mail then enable it now because nowadays emails of big YouTubers and social influencer are also hacked. Some of them Lost access to their YouTube Channel.
You should use this it will block hacker to bypass your verification & stole your data.
So use Two-Factor authentication wherever possible. It will boost your security level to the next step.
7. Use strong passwords
If you are using your parent's name, date birth as password then it is a big mistake. Anyone who knows you can easily guess it. Also if you are using only characters or numbers in your password then need to change this hobby right now.
How to Create a Strong Password & Beat the Hackers?
Creating Strong Password Manually
- Add Capital and normal both characters.
- Always include numbers in your password.
- Use Special Characters also.
- Password length of more than 8 char.
Use Auto Suggest Password.
It will create a strong Password for you Which include all the steps I mentioned above in the manual process.
Never use one password everywhere. If you forget your passwords like me the use a Password Manager Tool or you can save it on your Google Account.
